This Catalog was a standard pack-in with most of Atari's games
around 1981 or so. You got it with games like Yars' Revenge,
Defender, Asteroids, and the dirt common titles. This catalog
features the "not so serious" Atari artwork scheme, as compared to the
"serious" scheme. I really dislike this artwork, as it makes the VCS appear
like something that is cheesy and silly to own. Just take a look for yourself.
Compare this with Atari's later catalogs which make the VCS and its software
out to be something that would be slick and professional
to own.
Inside the front cover. Some decent hype, typical of Atari
during the period. Notice the picture on the right, which features
boxed Atari games. Yes, they actually looked that way. I remember
thinking to myself how cool it would be to actually have all of
those games. Now I know. :)
Asteroids, coming soon.
Space Invaders, one of the VCS classics.
